Scott Gimple, Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe, has hinted at the possibility of a second season for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Gimple revealed that "anything is possible" for the upcoming limited series, even if the main character Rick dies in the last episode. Originally planned as a trilogy of films centered around Rick Grimes, the project was redeveloped as a six-episode limited series. The series will focus on an "epic love story" between Rick and Michonne, who have been changed by the post-apocalyptic world. Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira will reprise their roles as Rick and Michonne. The Ones Who Live will premiere on AMC on February 25, 2024. In addition, AMC has second seasons of Daryl Dixon and Dead City in production, as well as a scripted series titled More Tales From the Walking Dead Universe.
