Quick-Thinking 6-Year-Old Becomes a Hero After Saving His Mother’s Life
In a moment of crisis, a six-year-old boy from Newtownards, Northern Ireland, transformed into a real-life hero. His mother collapsed due to a serious health condition, but this young boy’s actions changed everything.
An Ordinary Day Turns Terrifying
What began as a regular day for Liz Crooks and her family quickly turned into a nightmare. Liz, who suffers from a condition called Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), was spending time at home with her children when she suddenly felt unwell.
POTS, a condition that affects the autonomic nervous system, can cause rapid heart rate and fainting spells, which Liz has had to manage. Despite her experience, Liz didn’t anticipate how severe this episode would be.
As her heart rate skyrocketed, she realized something was terribly wrong. In an attempt to stay ahead of the situation, she contacted emergency services and sent a message to her mother.
Unfortunately, before help could arrive, Liz collapsed, losing consciousness. With no one else around to assist, the responsibility of seeking help fell squarely on her six-year-old son, Aiden.
Aiden’s Heroic Actions Under Pressure
Aiden, who had been taught what to do in emergencies, remained calm in the face of fear. While his mother lay unconscious, an Amazon delivery driver arrived at their door. In a remarkable display of quick thinking, Aiden approached the driver and asked for help, saying, “Can you help my mummy? She’s fainted.
”
The driver didn’t hesitate to act. He followed Aiden into the house, made sure Liz was okay, and promptly contacted emergency services. Thanks to Aiden’s clear-headed decision and the delivery driver’s quick response, paramedics arrived within 20 minutes. Liz was transported to the hospital, where she received the care she needed.
