Grey's Anatomy has been renewed for a 20th season, airing in Fall 2023. While Ellen Pompeo will not be returning, many of the long-running cast members such as Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Camilla Luddington, Kevin McKidd, and Caterina Scorsone have all chosen to renew their contracts. Kim Raver, who plays Teddy Altman, is also set to appear in season 20. Kelly McCreary has left after nine years on the show, but her character can potentially return. The new showrunner for season 20 will be Meg Marinis, replacing Krista Vernoff. Season 20 will likely follow up on the events of the season 19 finale, exploring the new intern class's romances and the aftermath of unauthorized surgery/ignoring a patient's DNR.
