Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey's Anatomy, revealed in a recent interview that she had second thoughts about killing off the character Dylan Young, a bomb defuser played by Kyle Chandler. In the Emmy-nominated episode "As We Know It" from the second season, the medical team at Seattle Grace Hospital works to save a man with an active bomb in his chest. Despite Chandler's compelling performance, the character was always intended to die, but Rhimes admitted that his talent made it harder for her to stick to the script. Chandler gained fame shortly after in Friday Night Lights.
