She also teased that Bailey will face new challenges in the upcoming season, testing her both professionally and personally. Meanwhile, fellow cast member Kelly McCreary announced her departure from the show last month after nine seasons. Grey's Anatomy was recently renewed for a 20th season. Ellen Pompeo, who plays the lead character Meredith Grey, previously confirmed her departure this season to pursue other projects. Grey's Anatomy airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
