Music moguls Rihanna and Jay-Z have made Forbes' list of billionaires once again. Rihanna, 35, officially became a billionaire last year, making her the wealthiest female musician in the world. Her fortune comes from her successful music and beauty ventures.
This year, Rihanna ranked at number 1,729 on the Forbes list with an estimated net worth of $1.7 billion. Her cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty, launched in 2017, contributes significantly to her billionaire status.
The brand generated over $550 million in revenue in 2020 alone.
Rihanna also co-owns the Savage X Fenty lingerie line, which was valued at $1 billion in February 2021. Between her music, beauty and fashion empires, the Barbadian superstar has established herself as an entrepreneurial force.
"It's easy to think that stars are born with silver spoons in their mouths, but Rihanna's story shows how you can build something from nothing," Rihanna's former accountant William Derella said.
Through hard work, business savvy and persistence, Rihanna turned her music fame into a multi-billion dollar business.

In 2022 the rapper was ranked number 1,513 on Forbes' rich list and had a multi-year deal with the sports company for his brand Yeezy.
But the father-of-four's wealth has plummeted below $1billion after the termination with the brand, which came after several other lucrative deals were dropped.
Kylie Jenner, 25, is another who is not on the list. She was previously declared the 'youngest self-made millionaire' by Forbes back in 2020, thanks to her beauty range.
She was booted off the list in 2021 and hasn't yet managed to make it back on.
Other stars on the list are Jay-Z and Oprah Winfrey.
Jay-Z's wealth has gone up to $2.5billion from $1.4billion and is placed at 1217 on the list.

Overall, there are 2,640 billionaires in Forbes' 2023 ranking from 77 countries.
Elon Musk, 51, is now just the second richest billionaire in the world, falling to Bernard Arnault, the chairman of French luxury goods giant LVMH — which owns brands like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Tiffany & Co.

The two had been trading places on the outlet's daily Real-Time Billionaires list over the past few months, CNN reports, but Arnault was able to supersede Musk in the annual list after his net worth grew more than $50billion to $211billion.
At the same time, Musk's net worth fell to just $180billion — $39billion less than it was last year, according to Forbes' calculations.
Despite Arnault's success, Forbes reports that it was a difficult year for many of the world's billionaires as the total number of billionaires on the list fell for a second straight year from 2,668 to 2,640.
But among those who are still billionaires, Forbes reports, none lost as much money as Bezos, who is $57billion poorer than he was a year ago thanks to a 38 percent decline in Amazon stock.
Bezos is now just in the third position on the list, with an estimated net worth of $114billion.
'It's been another rare down year for the planet's richest people,' Chase Peterson-Withorn, Forbes' senior editor of wealth said in a statement.
'Nearly half the list is poorer than they were 12 months ago, but a lucky few or billions — or even tens of billions of dollars richer.'
