According to a prosecutor in the murder case of rapper XXXTentacion, the suspects involved in the armed robbery killing were seen flaunting stacks of cash after the crime. The revelation was made during a bond hearing in Florida.
The suspects, Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome, and Robert Allen, were accused of robbing and shooting the popular rapper in June 2018. In court, Prosecutor Johnathan L. Nobile argued that the suspects' behavior after the crime displayed their knowledge and participation in the murder.
The prosecutor claimed that Williams, who was originally arrested first, had information about the subsequent arrests of the other individuals involved. Nobile pointed out that Williams, while in custody, had made phone calls discussing the knowledge of the involvement of Newsome and Boatwright in the crime.
Moreover, Nobile mentioned that Boatwright had been arrested in July 2018 for an unrelated drug charge but was later observed flashing large amounts of cash on multiple occasions. This behavior, according to the prosecutor, was an indication of his involvement in the robbery and murder.
During the hearing, the defense attorneys for the suspects argued against the prosecution's claims, stating that there was not enough evidence to link their clients to the crime. They contended that the prosecutor failed to present any concrete evidence that directly connected the defendants to the murder.
However, Nobile argued that the prosecutor's office had identified the suspects based upon text messages, cell phone records, and surveillance video. Additionally, witnesses had identified the individuals involved in the crime. Nobile also highlighted that the suspects' behavior after the murder further supports their connection to the crime.
The murder of XXXTentacion shocked the music industry and his fans worldwide. The young rapper, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, had gained significant popularity before his life was tragically cut short.
