Gimple, the chief content officer of The Walking Dead franchise, provided some exciting updates on the filming progress of two spinoff series, Daryl Dixon season 2 and Dead City season 2. While the original series may have ended in 2022, the franchise is alive and well with multiple spinoff series continuing the story in different locations.
Daryl Dixon Season 2: The Journey Continues
Daryl Dixon, portrayed by Norman Reedus, takes center stage in this spinoff series set in France. As the crossbow-wielding survivor tries to find his way back to the United States, viewers are taken on a thrilling journey through a zombie-infested European country. According to Gimple, Season 2 of Daryl Dixon is currently in postproduction, with a confirmed release window in the summer of 2024.
The upcoming season will be titled 'The Book of Carol', featuring Melissa McBride in a recurring role after her cameo in the first season.
Dead City Season 2: Exploring New Horizons
Meanwhile, Dead City follows Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they search for Maggie's kidnapped son, Hershel, in Manhattan. While the series is still scouting locations for its second season, fans can expect another thrilling chapter in the lives of these beloved characters.
