While Lady Violet's illness is a cause for concern for the family and staff at Downton Abbey, it also raises dilemmas for some of the other characters. Lady Mary, Lady Violet's granddaughter, becomes preoccupied with the thought of losing her beloved grandmother. She finds solace in her relationship with Lord Gillingham, as he offers her support and understanding during this difficult time.
Meanwhile, the staff at Downton Abbey is also affected by Lady Violet's illness. Mrs. Hughes, the housekeeper, expresses her worries about the possibility of losing Lady Violet, as she considers her a mentor and guide. The dedicated staff members, including Carson and Mrs.
