Defense attorneys representing three men accused of murdering rapper XXXTentacion have suggested on the opening day of the trial that Drake may be linked to the 2018 killing. The defense team argued that investigators did not properly investigate XXXTentacion's feud with Drake, which occurred prior to the shooting. Prosecutors have stated that there is no evidence linking Drake to the murder. The defendants are facing life sentences if convicted of first-degree murder.

Another man involved in the incident has already pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and will testify against the accused.
